The day started with Blood Donation Camp by the Members of the Management & Staff for Cancer patients, especially the children. The members of Management & Staff staged a drama 'Aboseshe' after the Inaugural program with the direction of Dr Ramprasad Mondal & Dr Tanmoy Chatterjee. This was the 13th such drama paying tribute to the Founder on his birthday.
Eminent Actor Ranjit Mallick was our Chief Guest who paid tribute to our Founder by garlanding his statue, along with the members of Management & Staff. This was followed by the Inaguration of Pathology Lab. The Cultural Programme started with the Inaugural song by the founder’s grandchildren, followed by the welcome address by Anjan Gupta, Hony Secy.
‘Dr Saroj Gupta LifeTime Achievement Award’ was given to Mr Ranjit Mallick,an eminent actor. Dr Gautam Bhattacharjee, Head of the department of Radiotherapy & Palliative Care. He has been associated with this institute since 21.09.1981 & Ms Chhanda Das, OPD-Incharge, has been associated with this institute since 01.04.1987
An excellent cultural programme was presented by our child patients and survivors, under the direction and guidance of Ms. Papri Saha, our music therapist, as in previous years. The event was followed by a musical performance by Ms. Jojo Mukherjee, our Chief Guest. Mr. Vineet Jain, President, Lions Club of Howrah graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Parents, staff members, and the management participated wholeheartedly in this colourful celebration. This event was sponsored by the Lions Club of Howrah.

Children in our IMCH ward celebrated Rakhi Purnima in a truly special way—with beautifully handcrafted Rakhis made by our own young cancer warriors. The presence of our management, staff members, and the children’s parents made the occasion even more memorable, as smiles, courage, and sibling bonds lit up the ward. These little hands don’t just tie Rakhis—they tie hearts with hope.
One of the brave cancer survivors from Sahas Cancer Centre graced the birthday celebration of a young warrior at our Pediatrics Ward.
With a heart full of compassion and a story of triumph, she lit the candle of hope for our little fighters—proving that cancer is not the end, but a battle that can be won.

Clean drinking water is a vital support for those on their healing journey, and we truly appreciate this compassionate gesture. Our Doctors were felicitated by the Rotary Club of Calcutta Sun City. They also gave gift hampers to our children. Our World Blood Donor Day Blood Donation Camp was a resounding success, made possible by the selfless individuals who came forward to donate blood and offer the gift of hope to cancer patients. Their generosity and compassion exemplify the spirit of community support that strengthens our mission of care.
On this day, the Institute paid heartfelt homage to its revered founder, Dr. Saroj Gupta, by garlanding his statue and organising a blood donation camp in his memory — a fitting tribute to a visionary whose life was dedicated to the service of humanity.

World Cancer Day was observed in our auditorium, where many cancer survivors and their families performed and shared their inspiring journeys. Their stories of resilience offered hope, strength, and encouragement to patients currently undergoing treatment.
Mr. Saikat Bhadra and Prof. Dipankar Dey from the Sky Watchers’Association conducted an engaging stargazing session with the children. They also presented gifts to all the participants. Special thanks to Dr. Aniruddha Sengupta for connecting them with us.

Christmas was celebrated at the Child Care Centre like previous years with great joy and festivity. Santa Claus and Mickey Mouse added to the excitement, delighting the children throughout the event. We express our sincere gratitude to Papri Saha, Jayanta Badya Majumder, and Anjan Saha for bringing the true spirit of Christmas to our little warriors. The parents, Management, Staff, and extended SGCCRI family joined the celebration, making the day truly memorable for everyone.
